We’re home after an incredible 3-night stay at the Marvel Hotel! Thanks so much for all the tips on the DLPtips facebook group before we left—they came in handy. This place is super modern, right next to the parks, and only a 5-minute stroll away. We loved every Marvel-lous minute. 😍
Day 1 – Arrival & New York Bar 🍕🍟
Arrived late, checked in, and made a beeline for the New York Bar for dinner.
-
Must-try: The Mickey pizza—honestly, delicious!
-
The staff were great—no problem swapping out some fries for us.
-
Perfect way to kick off our superhero adventure!
Day 2 – Parade Magic, Buzz Battles & Marvel Madness 🚀✨🕸️
Most of our second day was in Disneyland Park:
-
Dream… and Shine Brighter Parade: Absolute joy!
-
Castle Christmas Shop: Nearly blew the budget—so many sparkly souvenirs.
-
Buzz Lightyear & Discoveryland: Blasted some aliens, grabbed a quick lunch at Café Hyperion (fast, not fancy, but filled a gap!).
-
Fantasyland: Teacups and Dumbos for the win—my little one was in their element!
-
Peter Pan’s Flight: Queue was loooong, but found out you can buy a Premier Access pass for €12pp. (Top tip for next time!)
-
Avengers Campus: If you’re a Marvel fan, plan to hang here for an hour or so.
-
Spotted Spider-Man swinging, Black Panther and Black Widow up top, Thor and Loki by the Quinjet, Falcon, Iron Man, and even the Warriors of Wakanda!
-
Characters appear all the time, so keep your camera ready!
-
-
Fireworks & Illuminations: Yes, it’s busy—but totally worth being in the crowd for that magic moment. 🎆
Back at the hotel, we did the Super Hero Station (hotel guests only)—met Captain America! 🦸♂️ Totally epic.
Ended the day with McDonald’s for dessert—honestly, the menu puts ours to shame!
Day 3 – Character Breakfast, Studio Fun & Park-Hopping Pros 🍳🎠🚗
Started off with a character breakfast at Plaza Gardens.
-
My little one isn’t big on characters up close, but it was worth it for the photos!
-
Met Pinocchio, Geppetto, Eeyore, Tigger, Captain Hook, and Smee.
-
-
Got on favourites like Autopia (do this early—the queue grows faster than a queue for free churros) and Orbitron rockets.
Headed over to Walt Disney Studios Park:
-
No shows this time, but enjoyed Cars Road Trip and did a bit of retail therapy!
-
Back for the 5.30 parade—never gets old!
-
Pirates of the Caribbean was a huge hit. 🏴☠️
-
Studios Park: much quieter in the evening—perfect for getting loads done:
-
The other Cars ride (lost track of the names, was too busy having fun!)
-
Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure: Only queued 20 mins at night—worth skipping the big queues in the day with a toddler.
Food highlights:
-
Casey’s Corner hot dogs 🌭—quick, tasty, and perfect for when you’re dashing between parades.
-
Stark Factory—pasta and pizza heaven if you’re all “burgered out”!
Day 4 – One Last Slice of Magic 🍕✨
Last morning = back into Disneyland Park for one final wander.
-
Ate at Bella Notte—another Mickey pizza and some great kids’ options.
-
It’s been over a decade since my last visit—seeing my child light up at Disney brought back all the memories and then some.
Ffion’s Honest Tips & Final Thoughts 💡
-
Marvel Hotel is fantastic—especially for superhero fans!
-
2–3 days in the parks is about right, but if you want to see all the shows, go for an extra day.
-
Visit Avengers Campus in the evening for more character interactions and shorter queues.
-
Don’t skip the parades or fireworks—even if you have to elbow your way to a good spot. It’s worth it!
-
Use Premier Access passes for Peter Pan, Autopia, and anything else that builds up a queue.
-
Just…enjoy it! Don’t stress about ticking every box. Sometimes the best Disney moments are the unplanned ones.
We loved every minute and can’t wait to return for more Disney magic! 😍✨
