Just landed back from an epic 5-day, 4-night adventure—and honestly, the Disney blues are SO real 😭. Me and my bestie went for our (slightly belated) 30th birthdays in September 2022 and it was better than we could have imagined! We met 32 characters, rode everything we wanted, and watched the Dream… and Shine Brighter parade more times than we care to admit. Oh, and we said we’d only see the fireworks twice… but, classic us, we watched them every night. Zero regrets!
Getting There ✈️ & Hotel Review 🏨
-
Flew from Manchester (5:55am—ouch!), no drama except a busy border at CDG (blame Mondays!).
-
Took the Magic Shuttle to our hotel, which was smooth sailing.
-
Stayed at the B&B Hotel—basic but spotless, continental brekkie (not loads of choice, but did the job!).
-
Shuttle bus to and from the parks every day.
-
Top Tip: Going in was easy, but after the fireworks… chaos! Some people need a lesson in queue manners! 😂
-
Our Disney Game Plan (Or Lack Of!) 🎢
So glad we had five days. No stress, no rushing—just time to soak up the magic. If we’d had less, we’d have been racing around like headless chickens!
Favourite Disney Moments & Tips ✨
-
Princess Dining 👑: Booked before we left—AMAZING. Met Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel, plus the mice, and had a fab 3-course meal.
-
Character Dining 🐭: Met Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy Duck, Tigger, and Rabbit. Buffet was great, and Tigger had us in stitches!
-
Character Breakfast 🍳: 8:15am slot is perfect—empty castle shots and the likes of Hook, Mr Smee, Pinocchio, Geppetto, Tigger, and Rabbit. Brekkie was lovely!
-
Food Hacks 🍕🥪: Didn’t book every meal—sometimes just grabbed a Mickey pizza or hit Earl of Sandwich. Made sandwiches from breakfast bits to save money for souvenirs (pro tip!).
-
Best Parade Spots 🎉: For Dream and Shine Brighter and Stars on Parade, bag a spot by the stages at the front—get there 30–45 mins before for a view you’ll never forget.
-
Meet & Greets 🤩: Found most via the Disney app. Queues usually 30 mins, longest was an hour for Mickey and Minnie (worth every second!). Random characters pop up everywhere—Buzz, Piglet, Chip & Dale, Pluto, and even Maleficent!
-
Ride Waits & Fast Track 🚀: Waits weren’t too bad, but bought Premier Access for Thunder Mountain and Peter Pan (those queues never drop!).
-
Fireworks Strategy 🎆: Try to watch from different spots! We queued two hours for front row (incredible view), then did the back another night for a different vibe.
-
Insider Secret 🌳: Next to L’Arbre Enchante in Fantasyland, watch for characters popping in and out for breaks.
-
Shows 🎭: Mickey and the Magician was excellent (just wandered in three minutes before start—no extra cost). The Frozen one? Not so much—skip it!
-
Souvenir Warning 🛍️: Prepare to spend! So many amazing 30th anniversary goodies—our wallets are lighter but our hearts are full! 🤣
Final Thoughts & Friendly Advice 📝
-
Don’t over-plan! Know what you want to do, but don’t stress about rigid schedules.
-
The Disneyland Paris app is a must—helps you find characters, check wait times, and map out your day.
-
Most of all, soak it all in and have the BEST time ever.
