Our Hotel room was nice and with a view at the Bus stop( very handy).
Explorers Hotel had a nice warm swimming pool although “Aqua Parc” is a big name for us as it’s really small. We did walks outside the park and you have a nice little lake and can take a “round walk” in the evenings.
We had dinner our first evening at the Captain’s Library, an a la carte restaurant.
Our second evening we had dinner at the pizzeria.
We visited Disneyland Paris for 2 days and enjoyed both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios.
Our first day in Disneyland Paris
First day we went after breakfast to Walt Disney Studios, then into Disneyland Park and stayed until Illuminations and Fireworks. We were “feet broken” but very happy!
In the Studios we managed to ride Avengers Flight Force, Spiderman Web Adventure, Tower of terror and RC Racer.
Tip:we asked at the entry for 2 Park maps( one to keep as souvenir and one to use). We made before a plan on the map, marked the wanted attractions on each theme! Also useful for finding toilets.
The park is huge and I found the directions badly inside the park. Without a map we got lost.
We had lunch & dinner at Hakuna Matata ( inside with aircon) and we enjoyed a coffee outside on the terrace.
After 17:30 we went to Disneyland Park.
We did a lot of attractions including Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor, Alice’s Labyrinth, Videopolis, Star Tours and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain.
We went around 22:00 to the castle for Illuminations and people were already gathered!!!
Tip: go at least at 22:00 to find a good spot. Make sure you first go to the toilet and get enough snacks and drinks.
Get an external battery to still be able to take some shots on your phone or camera.
It was phenomenal!!!
The surprise was the “getting out chaos” out of the park and shuttlebus back to our hotel. Man man man… what an experience!
Tip: you shall go a little early already walking towards the exit… or you patiently wait like 20 to 30 min extra to go out safely and no stress of losing your kids or losing track of the way out.
People get nasty and pushy when they are tired and impatient.
Day 2 in Disneyland Paris
Second day we went first to DLP and did first the shopping tour and after we took our attractions tour again. After this we went shopping again!
We went back to the hotel after 17:00 for few hours and had dinner at the pizzeria in our hotel.
We went back to DLP around 20:30 and yes got a good spot for Illuminations from 21:00. Yes, people were also gathered already but was more choice.
This time we just watched the show( no phones).
It was amazing!!!
Day 3 sightseeing in Paris
Tip: Paris Visite RER tickets: I purchased them online and let them be sent by post to The Netherlands; 1 day 1 – 5 zones. They send you tickets, a city guide, Map of Paris and a map of Paris Plan ( travel guide RER& Metro lines)
We visited: Arc de Triomphe & Eiffel Tower 2nd floor ( top floor was closed).
Tips:
How to get to Eiffel Tower?
Take RER A to Charles de Gaulle- Etoile
*we got here out and went also to L’Arc de Triomphe and did some shopping on Champs d’ Elysee
Take M6 from Charles de Gaulle-Etoile to M6 Trocadero to get to the Eiffel Tower
Tip: We had dinner at the summer terrace of the Hanami restaurant( next to the Aquarium).
We saw the lighted Eiffel Tower at 22:00 hours.
We got back at hotel amazed, satisfied and very happy!
I wish you a very nice stay and lots of lovely experiences in DLP and Paris
