Card or Cash at Disneyland Paris? Best Way to Pay in France

Revolut card, euro coins and notes on a Disneyland Paris map with a Mickey waffle – guide to paying with card or cash💶 Card, Cash or Travel Card? What You Actually Need at Disneyland Paris (2026)

Planning your Disneyland Paris trip is exciting… until you hit the practical question:

Do you need euros, can you use your card everywhere, or should you get a travel card?

After loads of trips, here’s the honest answer 👇

👉 Cards are king… but a small amount of cash still saves the day.

💳 Cards Are King (You’ll Use Them 95% of the Time)

Disneyland Paris is almost fully cashless in 2026.

You can use:

  • UK debit & credit cards (Visa / Mastercard) ✅
  • Travel cards (Revolut, Monzo, Wise) ✅
  • Apple Pay & Google Pay ✅

Even snack carts and kiosks usually take contactless now.

⚠️ The bit most people don’t realise:

  • UK banks often charge 2–3% foreign transaction fees
  • Always choose pay in euros — never pounds

💡 Those tiny fees quietly eat your spending money.

💸 Real Cost Example
£500 spend on normal bank card → loses £15–£20 in fees
Same spend with Revolut → £0 fees

🔥 Why I Use Revolut Every Trip

If you want the easiest and cheapest way to pay, Revolut is honestly a no-brainer.

  • 🌍 Near-perfect exchange rates
  • 💸 No hidden fees
  • 📱 Instant spending alerts
  • 🔒 Freeze card instantly if lost
  • 💰 Track your spending (dangerous in Disney shops 😅)

👉 It’s what I personally use every trip — you can sign up here

💶 Do You Still Need Cash?

Yes — but only a little.

Cash is useful for:

  • Snack carts (a few still cash-only)
  • Tipping (€2–€5, optional)
  • Baggage trolleys
  • Vending machines
  • Backup if card systems go down

👉 €50–€100 total is plenty for most trips

🎯 The Best Setup (Do This and You’re Sorted)

  • 💳 Use a travel card like Revolut for almost everything
  • 💶 Bring a small amount of euros for backup

That’s it. No stress. No overthinking.

🛍️ Smart Travel Extras (Worth Having)

These aren’t essential, but they make things easier (and safer):

  • 🎒 RFID-blocking wallet (protects your cards in busy areas)
  • 🧳 Travel money pouch / neck wallet
  • 👛 Small coin purse for euros

  • Use card + small cash combo

    • Hi Michael,

You can only purchase Disneyland Paris gift cards if you are a professional for business purposes. I would however suggest loading money (euros) onto a travel card as a gift for your friend/family to use whilst they are at Disneyland Paris.

      Kind Regards
      Billy
